PAINTED BUFFALO PROJECT ended LAST SUMMER 2009
My Cow Buffalo "SPIRIT of YELLOWSTONE" sold to the WEST YELLOWSTONE HOLIDAY INN, if you get a chance drop by and see her.
The Calf Buffalo "Blossom" went to Airizona.
The final summer kicked off with a chance to see all the cows and calves at one location, corralled on the lawn of the Yellowstone Historic Center Museum in West Yellowstone, Montana.
“West Yellowstone is the premiere gateway to the world’s first national park, Yellowstone. We are honored to be the first community around the Park to showcase the talent, hard work and colorful expressions of these artists and share the wild, western, Native American and railroad heritage of the area with people from around the world,” states John Greve, co-chair of the Painted Buffalo Events Committee.
“It’s quite satisfying to be both a sponsor and Buffalo Roam Committee member and see the fun, excitement and positive economic impact the painted buffalo have brought for our visitors and community,” explains Greve. “We’re so excited to show people from around the world the incredible talent and artistry of our Minnesota and Rocky Mountain artists.”
The Painted Buffalo Roam Project is sponsored by the West Yellowstone Economic Development Council, Inc. (WYED). WYED is a non-profit organization created for the primary purpose of creating a healthier and more vibrant economy as well as a revitalized community in West Yellowstone, Montana and the surrounding Hebgen Lake Basin. This project was designed to introduce a new venue for artistic expression in West Yellowstone and provide local citizens and visitors with a fun, rewarding, cultural and artistic experience. These summer events are also supported by the Town of West Yellowstone MAP Fund, Chamber of Commerce, and the Three Bear Marketing Fund. See http://www.wyed.org for more information.
